Slate Roofing

This is one of our main specialties in roofing, we have always been brought up with slate roofing so we are very good at it.

From re-roofs with Welsh slate to full new roofs using Welsh, Spanish, Brazilian, and many more different types of slate we’ve got it covered.

Slate roofing tile has some great benefits, mainly due to the fact that it’s a natural stone product, giving it a timeless, beautiful appearance, and the longevity that slate is renowned for – well installed slate roofs can last over 100 years, also making it a very environmentally friendly product. Slate is also completely fire resistant which is a huge advantage when preventing house fires.

Tiled Roofing

From small tile Rosemary’s to big concrete tiles using all types of tile manufactures including Marleys, Sandtoft, Redlands, Lagan plus many more.

Roof tiles are available in a wide range of colours and can match any architectural style, they are easy to install, maintain and repair and due to natural ventilation can help keep a house cooler in Summer and warmer in Winter.

Aside from their aesthetic appeal, roof tiles are extremely durable and can resist harsh weather conditions, like slate they are also fire resistant, providing that extra peace of mind.

A well installed tile roof can last up to 70 years.

Fibreglass (GRP) Roofing

Here at M&J Roofing we are fully trained and in the National Fibreglass Installers Register.

Fibreglass roofing is an excellent alternative to the old bitumen felt roofs which only last from 10-15 years, the fibreglass roof if installed correctly can last for over 50 years and has a great look.

GRP roofs need little or no maintenance due to them having no seals, joints or welds where water may penetrate.

Fibreglass roofs are hugely versatile and can be fitted around roof lights or other structural obstacles, they are finished with a top-coat which is available in a range of colours so no matter the style of your home, GRP roofing can achieve the look you want.

Velux Windows

We are proud to be a Velux installer specialist. M&J Roofing install all sizes of Velux Windows including all accessories as well as the Velux sun tunnels.

Velux windows and sun tunnels are famous for bringing more sunlight into a property, this makes a room warm and sunny, reducing consumption of electricity whilst also providing a great source of Vitamin D, essential for healthy bones and teeth.

Velux windows are superb when it comes to reducing noise pollution from the outside world and can retain up to 60% of heat during Winter while reflecting about the same during the Summer months meaning temperature control is versatile and simple, some units even come with an electronic control pad meaning you can control temperatures from the comfort of your living room.
